No Mow May!
Lostock Primary School is participating in ‘No Mow May’ in certain areas around school, as part of our Climate Action Plan.
By participating in ‘No Mow May’, we’re not just letting our green areas go wild, we’re also helping to:
* Increase biodiversity by providing a variety of plants and habitats.
* Support pollinating insects like bees and butterflies.
* Create a more natural and aesthetically pleasing landscape.

Carrot Challenge!
Lostock Primary School has begun a carrot growing competition across school. Classes planted their seeds in their starter trays, then after the Easter holidays, each class transferred their growing carrots into grow bags, which our children are watering daily. There will be prizes in July for the class who can grow:
• the longest carrot
• the most carrots
• the heaviest (when weighing all carrots produced as a class)

Great British Spring Clean
As part of the nationwide Great British Spring Clean and Great Big School Clean 2025, pupil leaders took part in a collective effort to tidy the school grounds, picking up litter and raising awareness about the importance of protecting the environment. Our Eco Council and Outdoor Learning Leader, who have a strong commitment to sustainability, showed exceptional teamwork, working together to ensure the school remained clean and welcoming for everyone.
